Secretarial Services

A good Scheme Secretary’s aim is to help to run the Trustees’ meetings, and any Sub-Committee meetings, as efficiently as possible. Papers should be received in good time, with all the necessary items on the agenda. Meetings should be run well, the minutes prepared promptly and any necessary follow-up dealt with.

If you need help with any of the following, please contact us:

  • Organising Trustee Meetings or Sub-Committee Meetings;
  • Giving adequate notice of meetings, in line with the Pensions Act;
  • Compiling the meeting Agenda;
  • Ensuring that the meeting papers are distributed in good time;
  • Producing the meeting Minutes, distributing and finalising them;
  • Ensuring that appropriate records are kept, in accordance with the Pensions Act;
  • Ensuring that decisions taken at the meeting are properly recorded;
  • Dealing with any items which need to be followed up.

There are, of course, legal requirements in relation to Trustee meetings and record-keeping. But, apart from that, it is in everyone’s best interests to make sure that their pension scheme is run well. Because a well-run pension scheme can result in better outcomes for members and to time, trouble and money saved for all concerned.
